Guardian Dogs


 

 

What is a Guardian Home?


In order to give each of our dogs the best possible life we place some of our breeding dogs with a permanent family free of charge.  We retain ownership of the dog for a period of years, usually 4-5, during which the dog lives with the guardians as their family pet.  It comes to our house for breeding, or to have puppies, but other than that it lives with its guardians.  At the end of the contract period, we pay to have the dog neutered and ownership transfers to the guardians.

1.     Guardian Family must take the puppy/dog to a basic obedience training class.

2.    Guardian Family must have a fence, invisible fence or be in a secluded country setting.

3.    Guardians must live within 50 miles of Bradford, VT for the duration of the contract.

4.    Be willing to feed a diet Grandview approves of. 

5.   You must be willing to openly communicate with Grandview about any matter related to the dog and allow me to visit your home and be able to visit my home.

6.   Understand and agree that the dog will give birth at our home. Females will be with us for about 8 weeks after giving birth and then will be returned to you. 

7.  It can be difficult to have your pet leave for 8 weeks so this must be given great consideration.

We currently have both adult dogs and puppies available to guardian homes.  I love these dogs immensly but have chosen to allow them to find their forever homes sooner than later. 


Nori:   Medium sized chocolate girl born 2/8/10.  She is from my therapy lines and is very calm.

      


Holly:  Medium sized adult.  Holly is very calm but loves to play ball too.  She knows basic obedience and is fully house trained.




Peaches:  Peaches is a mini and was born August 2009.  She is a total love.

Eclipse:  She was born 1/30/2010.  She is a very soulful girl and just wants to please.











 





 


Puppies: I have puppies from Jazz's litter that I am holding to health test.  If they meet the standards they will be available in June/July for Guardian Home adoption.
